Your Neighborhood Wine Store: With a Fresh Perspective

For more than 60 years, Continental Fine Wines has been part of life in Greenwich. Whether it was a quick stop for a weeknight bottle or stocking up for the holidays, this little shop on William Street has always been part of the neighborhood fabric.

Now, it’s my turn to carry that tradition forward — and I couldn’t be more excited.

Who I Am

I’m Corey Fine, a Certified Sommelier, A Certified Wine Professional, and the new owner here at Continental. My wife, son, and I recently moved to Connecticut after more than a decade in California wine country.

I’ve been fortunate to taste, travel, and work with some of the world’s most inspiring producers but for me, the real passion is creating a shop where you can walk in, get an honest recommendation, and walk out with something you’ll be excited to open.

What’s Changed (and What Hasn’t)

You’ll notice some updates when you stop by:

• The space feels brighter and more open. We gave the shop a facelift with fresh paint, a new layout, and a little more room to browse.
  
• The shelves have been reimagined. Alongside trusted classics, you’ll now find grower Champagnes, cool-climate Pinot Noirs, and small-batch spirits that bring something new to the table.
  
• Events and tastings are on the way. Continental is meant to be more than just a store  it’s a neighborhood place to connect, discover, and share a glass.
  

While the space feels new, the spirit behind it hasn’t changed:  it’s still about connection, conversation, and great wine. This has always been a shop for the community first.

How I Choose What’s on the Shelf

Every bottle here has to pass two tests:

1. Is it delicious?
   
2. Is it a good value for what it is?
   

That means you’ll see a thoughtful mix: crisp Chablis, Brunello that over-delivers, geeky finds from Greece and South Africa, and plenty of weeknight-friendly bottles.

I’ll do the homework so you don’t have to — you just get to enjoy what’s in your glass.

What’s Next

We’re just getting started. In the months ahead, look for:

• A monthly wine club, featuring hand-picked bottles that explore both classics and hidden gems.
  
• A Spirits Club, with limited releases, cocktail recipes, and mixers to make them shine.
  
• Seasonal features — refreshing rosé in summer, cozy reds in fall, sparkling bottles for the holidays.
  
• Plenty of in-store events, from casual tastings to special themed nights.
  

Come Say Hello

At the end of the day, this is about people, not just bottles. Some of the best conversations I’ve had in life started over a glass of wine, and I hope this shop becomes a place for more of those.

So stop by 58 William Street in Greenwich — even if it’s just to browse, say hi, or ask what I’ve been drinking lately. Chances are, I’ll have a bottle open to share.
